provides developers with an interface that is similar to other Windows

Data Director for Web lets you use features of the Web DataBlade
module to create Web applications that:
n Include dynamically retrieved data in Web pages
n Store Web pages in an Informix database, with all the security
and reliability that database storage provides
n Update a database from a Web browser
Data Director for Web increases your productivity in creating and
managing these Web sites with the following features:
n AppPage Editor provides a work space (AppPage window) in which
to develop AppPages. Within this window, you can switch between three
separate views of your AppPage as you work on it:
q A Layout view with a WYSIWYG editor and wizards
q A Source view that displays color-coded HTML source code
q A Preview view that displays the rendered HTML in a browser
n AppPage Editor provides multiple toolbars and wizards for quick
and easy insertion of both HTML and Web DataBlade module tags (AppPage
tags) into your AppPages.
n Site Manager provides a hierarchical tree view (similar to
Windows Explorer) of database servers, databases, folders, and the
resources in folders.
q Site Manager provides drag-and-drop capability for deploying
projects or resources among databases and database servers. This
feature is useful for moving or copying large, linked projects and for
deploying projects to production database servers.
q Site Manager provides import/export capability for moving
projects or any of their components between a database and the file
system. This feature is useful both for debugging and for laying out
AppPages when you are not connected to a database.
n Site Manager provides project management capabilities for Web
development teams:
q AppPages and resources can be viewed as a hierarchical tree or
they can be grouped into projects that reflect how the resources are
used. Projects can be deployed as a single unit.
